Grandma K’s Pot Roast

The trick to this delicious pot roast is letting the meat sit in the thickened gravy. You can even prepare this ahead, and reheat just before dinner. By layering the meat in with the gravy you will have a super tender pot roast.

My Grandma always had something cooking in the kitchen. Whether she was baking up sour dough muffins or preparing a full course meal, we could always count on her for some type of treat. There were several dishes that she made like none other. This Pot Roast was one of them and it is melt in your mouth delicious.

Until several years ago, I wasn’t sure what the secret was to her pot roast. I was sad that I hadn’t asked for the recipe, until my brother invited me for dinner….and to my surprise had cooked up Grandmas Pot Roast! Needless to say I grilled him on the exact particulars of her recipe…so here it is…..I am sure that your family will love it just as much as mine does!

Sweet Tomato Braised Brisket

My challenge this year, of cooking every cut of meat that The Butcher has to offer, has really opened my eyes to how food and certain dishes shape our families. People are drawn to gatherings by special dishes that are prepared, sometimes just for that certain holiday and enjoyed only once a year.

Coming from an Italian and Irish background we celebrate Christmas in our home, but this year I have been preparing holiday dishes that our customers will be eating at their homes. So, it seems fitting that I prepare a customary dish from Hanukkah as well.

Bare with me, I’m sure the recipe that I have prepared is not completely traditional, but it certainly is super tasty!

When I asked for a first cut Brisket, The Butcher sent me home with a D’Artagnan, Painted Hills All Natural Brisket. I should not have been surprised at how amazing it turned out, just because of the quality of the D’Artagnan product….but wow! We devoured this Sweet Tomato Braised Brisket!

This Burger Gets Five Stars!

There are few things more all American than a delicious burger grilled on your backyard barbecue . In my quest to become a better cook, I have realized that the outcome certainly does start with the quality of the ingredients you start with.

This half pound burger is made from freshly ground, all natural, grass fed painted hills beef. The taste and light airy texture of these burgers make them crave-worthy.

Serve these mouth watering burgers on a fresh brioche bun with melted american and spicy pickles……gourmet all the way!
