Wishing all of our “Mothers” a very Happy Mother’s Day!
“Hope” is the thing with feathers-
That perches in the soul-
And sings the tune without the words-
And never stops- at all-
~An excerpt from the poem “Hope” is the thing with feathers~ Emily Dickinson
This passage from the poem written by Emily Dickinson is a favorite of mine. I feel it is especially relevant on this special weekend when we honor all of our wonderful and dedicated mothers.
This poem reminds me of the tireless hope, that we, as Mothers, and as parents feel for our children’s future dreams and aspirations. Becoming a Mother or even “like a Mother” to a child, changes the way we think, act and feel. Suddenly, there is much more appreciation for the little things, as well as much more admiration for our own Mother’s and the time and effort it took for them to raise us.
A Mother never stops hoping that her child will be the best version of themselves; healthy, safe and happy.
On Mother’s Day, many of us who are Mothers will probably be hosting a get together…since that’s what we do…take care of everyone! Make it easy on yourself by following this menu for a simple make ahead brunch that will please everyone…yourself included!
