THANKSGIVING

What’s in a word? Take a moment to think about the meaning behind whatever it is that we are celebrating. Thanksgiving is more than just a day that we fill our bellies with a delicious meal. There are deep meanings behind the two words that actually make up the title for this holiday.

THANKS

“Be grateful for always this moment…the now, no matter what form it takes. “

~Eckhart Tolle~

Saying thank you is a lifestyle. Enjoy each moment. Take a pause to say thank you. This habit brings us calm in our lives and in our homes.

GIVING

“NO ONE HAS EVER BECOME POOR BY GIVING. IT’S NOT HOW MUCH WE GIVE BUT HOW MUCH LOVE WE PUT INTO GIVING.”

~ANNE FRANK~

Be a giver. There’s a method of giving that doesn’t deplete, it just fills us up! I have always been inspired by the quote about love in giving, because it’s an idea that can be measured. When we give with love, the receiver can feel our intentions.

When I break down the word Thanksgiving, I realize it holds two very powerful words. This realization makes me feel hope and gratitude. Enjoying a meal together, around a table, brings us joy. It offers a moment of peace and hopefulness that we can all share.

As you enjoy this uplifting time of the year, when we all come together with family and friends, take a moment for gratitude. Take a moment to listen to the people around you and also the inner thoughts that you are speaking. Look for the little things that we can say thank you for. Enjoy the moments and keep the love in your family and in your holidays!

Keep it simple this Thanksgiving by planning ahead and not going overboard! The Turkey and a few delicious sides are more than enough. Cross one thing off the menu and delegate desserts or appetizers to the guests that will attend.

By using these few simple tips…we and our guests will feel the joy in the thanks and in the giving.
