Strawberry Champagne Trifle

Strawberry and Champagne are a classic combination.  Add pastry cream, ladyfingers and whipped cream for an incredible dessert.

Strawberry Champagne Trifle. Yum!

The trifle should be made the day before you plan to serve it. This allows the flavors to come together for a fantastic dessert! I used prosecco in place of champagne, but you decide!

Tapas and Cocktails…This will be the best New Year Yet!

New Year’s Eve is the perfect holiday to plan a fun, relaxing tapas party. I love the small bites coupled with a great glass of wine or champagne. The informality of this type of get together lends itself to a flexible time schedule, and encourages your guests to mingle and have fun.

How To Serve Caviar

Need I say more?

I have heard caviar referred to as food for the gods. Does that peak your interest?
If you are looking to host a fancy New Year’s Eve Cocktail Party, then caviar should be the first item on the menu.

The purest caviar is believed to be sourced from the eggs of the Sturgeon Beluga, which are very rare and have resulted in high prices for caviar. Many other types of caviar have to come to rival the Russian Sturgeon Beluga. This New Year’s Eve I will be serving the Farm-Raised Ossetra Caviar Malossol. R&S Meat Market carries this delicious caviar with a buttery taste, brought to us from D’Artagnan. This Ossetra Caviar is harvested from the Siberian Sturgeon under humane and sustainable farming conditions in the Aquitaine region of France.

A Merry Christmas Menu

La Famiglia….

I can remember back to Christmas as a child as though it were yesterday. Christmas Eve was always spent with my Dad’s parents, and Christmas Day at my Mom’s parents.

The  Grandmas from both sides were very different in their approach of entertaining, but both yielded wonderful and homey results that we looked forward to each year.

As a child…Christmas was the most magical time of the year.

Time moves on and as  I have gotten older and  come to realize how much time and effort is put into the planning of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, it makes me appreciate more so, every one who took the time to make those days special. It truly does remind me to slow down, and remember what Christmas and the Holidays are really all about.

This year, my boys noticed that I was feeling a little overwhelmed by my long to do list, and they decided to decorate our Christmas tree.

In years past we have decorated a huge tree, sometimes even putting up two trees. This year, we have gone back to basics. “Our Family Tree” includes many photo ornaments of our family members and all of the handmade ornaments that the boys have created over the past thirteen years. The handmade angel, was made by JT when he was four years old

I have posted a picture, because I love the way the tree came out, but mostly because I love that the boys decorated themselves. What a treat to just sit down and enjoy!

Fresh Herb Antipasto Wreath

Pinterest has the most unbelievably  creative ideas and I have to admit…that I pin many items…but have trouble actually bringing them to the table! It’s easy to hit the pin button, but some of the ideas are very time consuming.

This Fresh Herb Wreath caught my attention as soon as I noticed the pin, so I really tried my hardest to actually make it! It will be a beautiful addition to your holiday table this year, or perfect if your having friends for tapas and cocktails.

Warm Spinach Salad with Dried Cherries and Pinoli Nuts

Before the craziness of the holiday season at the Meat Market began this year, The Butcher and I joined some friends for a beautiful friday night dinner. On the menu was a super delicious Warm Spinach Salad.

It was so tasty that I thought it would be a wonderful addition to my Christmas Dinner Menu.

Here’s my take on it.
